All the Great Desert Tracks

Following the very successful Hema Great Desert Tracks expeditions of the late 1990s / early 2000s and subsequent up to date field work, Hema Maps Pty Ltd, has produced this terrific atlas and guide book to Australia's arid regions and sparsely populated interior.

Opening chapters cover the natural history and evolution of deserts followed by chapters on safety and preparation. Pages 45 to 155 describe twenty Australian Deserts in detail with places of interest and twenty-eight 4WD treks through those deserts, illustrated by some great colour photography and detailed sectional maps.

The atlas section of the guide is from page 162 to 242. The maps comprising the atlas are from the Hema Great Desert Tracks series of maps.

Closing chapters include a guide to desert plants, a guide to desert animals, important contacts, camping checklist, bibliography and index.
